As a pathologist in a major metropolitan
city, she has seen more than her share of corpses
every day—many of them victims of violent mur-
der. But never before has her blood run cold, and
never has the grim expression "dead ringer" rung
so terrifyingly true. Because never before has
the lifeless bodu on the medical examiner's table
been her own.

Yet there can be no denying the mind-reeling
evidence before her shocked eyes and those of
her colleagues, including Detective Jane Rizzoli:
the woman found shot to death outside Maura's
home is the mirror image of Maura, down to the
most intimate physical nuances. Even more chill-
ing is the discovery that they share the same birth
date and blood type. For the stunned Maura, an
only child, there can be just one explanation. And
when a DNA test confurms that Maura's mysteri-
ous doppelgänger is in fact her twin sister, an
already bizzare murder investigation becomes a
disturbing and dangerous excursion into a past
full of dark secrets.

Searching for answers, Maura is drawn to a sea-
side town in Maine where other horrifying
surprises await. But perhaps more frightening, an
unknown murderer is at large on a cross-country
killing spree. To stop the massacre and uncover
the twisted truth about her own roots, Maura
must probe her first living subject: the mother
that she never knew . . . an icy and cunning
woman who could be responsible for giving
Maura life—and who just may have a plan to take
it away.

My Review:
This book was AWESOME! It's such a lifetime movie type of book. It's got the thriller part and the horror part and it's even got the romance part. It captured my attention within the first 3 or 4 pages. Now I just have to go back to read the rest of the series. I didn't realize this was the 4th book in the series. lol. But I highly recommend this book to anyone who's into that category of books.

Uglies

Title: Uglies

Author(s): Scott Westerfield

Summary:
Tally is about to turn sixteen, and

she can't wait. Not for her license—
for turning pretty. In Tally's world,
your sixteenth birthday brings an
operation that turns you from a
repellent ugly into a stunningly
attractive pretty and catapults
you into a high-tech paradise
where your only job is to have a
really great time. In just a few
weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't
sure she wants to be pretty. She'd
rather risk life on the outside.
When Shay runs away, Tally learns
about a whole new side of the
pretty world—and it isn't very
pretty. The authorities offer Tally
the worst choice she can imagine:
find her friend and turn her in, or
never turn pretty at all. The choice
Tally makes changes her world
forever.

My Review:
My Opinion, this book is not the best. I got about 55 pages into it and it still hadn't captured my attention, so it doesn't look like I will be reading this series.

Plum Spooky

Title: Plum Spooky (A Between-the-Numbers Novel)

Author(s): Janet Evanovich

Summary:
Turn on all the lights and

check under your bed.
Things are about to get spooky
in Trenton, New Jersey.

According to legends, the Jersey Devil prowls
the Pine Barrens and soars above the treetops
in the dark of night. As eerie as this might
seem, there are things in the Barrens that are
even more frightening and dangerous. And
there are monkeys. Lots of monkeys.

Wulf Grimoire is a world wanderer and

an opportunist who can kill without remorse
and disappear like smoke. He's chosen Martin
Munch, boy genius, as his new business
partner, and he's chosen the Barrens as his
new playground.

Munch received his doctorate degree in
quantum physics when he was twenty-two.
He's now twenty-four, and while his brain is
large, his body hasn't made it out of the boys'
department at Macy's. Anyone who says
good things come in small packages hasn't
met Munch. Wulf Grimoire is looking for
world domination. Martin Munch would be
happy if he cold just get a woman naked
and tied to a tree.

Bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum has Munch
on her most-wanted list for failure to appear
in court. Plum is the all-American girl stuck in
an uncomfortable job, succeeding on luck
and tenacity. Usually she gets her man. This
time she gets a monkey. She also gets a big
guy named Diesel.

Diesel pops in and out of Plum's life like
birthday cake—delicious to look at and taste,
not especially healthy as a steady diet, gone
by the end of the week if not sooner. He's an
über bounty hunter with special skills when it
comes to tracking men and pleasing women.
He's after Grimoire, and now he's also after
Munch. And if truth were told, he wouldn't
mind setting Stephanie Plum in his crosshairs.

Diesel and Plum hunt down Munch and
Grimoire, following them into the Barrens,
surviving cranberry bogs, the Jersey Devil, a
hair-raising experience, sand in their under-
wear, and, of course . . . monkeys.

My Review:
Okay . . . so I really love this series. It was a fantastic book, but like usual all the books in this series are. The only thing that I'm still waiting on is when she will hook up with Diesel. She's had a fling with all the other guys and she already knows Diesel wants her and that he won't act on what he feels, so it's going to have to be up to her. Maybe before long they'll hook up. But in all honesty, this book was awesome. Of course this book didn't include her family nearly as much as the others have, but it's still good. It still had a lot of her screw up mistakes in it, who am I kidding, it wouldn't be Stephanie without those mistakes.

Breaking Dawn

Title: Breaking Dawn

Author(s): Stephenie Meyer

Summary:

"Don't be afraid," I murmured.

"We belong together."
I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words.

This moment was so perfect, so right,
there was no way to doubt it.

His arms wrapped around me,
holding me against him. . . .
It felt like every nerve ending in my body
was a live wire.

"Forever," he agreed.

My Review:
Okay, where to even begin with this book? First of all, it was AWESOME!!! I was happy when Edward and Bella got married, but I was ecstatic when Edward and Bella were going to have a baby. And of course even though she wasn't planning on becoming a mother, those maternal skills kicked in just fine. And like usual she would do anything to protect Renesmee. Even though Bella is a fictional character, I would love to be the kind of mother Bella was to Renesmee. I would love to have that kind of family, period. One day I will.

Pitch Black: Color Me Lost

Title: Pitch Black: Color Me Lost

Author(s): Melody Carlson

Summary:
If Morgan thought her life was tough before—what with a drug-addicted, klepto brother and a craddle-robbing mother—it just got worse. Last night her close friend Jason took his own life. Smart, funny, a good listener, and perfect in just about every way, Jason Harding is gone forever.
Someone please wake me from this nightmare.
Jason's death sends Morgan reeling. She copes—or tries to—by attempting to piece together vague clues that might explain her friend's suicide. Making matters worse, Morgan can't help but feel responsible because she wasn't there for her friend when he needed her most. Sometimes she thinks maybe Jason had the right idea all along. Morgan feels lost in a pitch-black abyss, and her only way out is to turn back to the one Friend who will never leave her.

My Review:
1 Corinthians 15:55
"O Death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory?"

I believe this verse has to say a lot to say about this book. One of my best friend's died in a car accident when he was 15-years-old. I never thought of taking my own life like Seth, Grace, and Morgan did. And by the end of the book, I'm glad that Grace and Morgan changed their minds, then talked Seth out of it. Because I agree with them, it wouldn't have solved anything. All it would have done would be cause more pain for the ones that cared for you. As reality has it, it is harder to live than to kill yourself. It may not seem like it, but it is. Just think about it, it takes no time for you to kill yourself, but it takes an commitment for eternity to live. You have to try everyday to stay alive. And suicide is permanent, so like Morgan said in the book, once you make that decision and act on it, there is no turning back. It's an irreversible act.

Torch Red: Color Me Torn

Title: Torch Red: Color Me Torn

Author(s): Melody Carlson

Summary:
Zoë is certain she's the only teenager on the planet who's still a virgin—okay, except maybe abstinence princess Casey Renwick. The talk in the locker room makes sec sound so great—and maybe it is—but Zoë isn't so sure. The new girl in school, Shawna Frye, has done it, although she's the one girl who doesn't say much about it.
Maybe I should just do it and get it over with.
When jock-boy Justin Clark asks Zoë out, she wonders if he could finally be the one. Nate, a die-hard Christian and real friend, encourages Zoë to consider exactly what it all means before she makes a life-defining decision. Behind the scenes, Shawna's dark secret threatens to change everyone's perspective on sex. But will Zoë find out before it's too late?

My Review:
Well, this book brings back plenty of memories. And none of them good except the fact that I accepted Jesus into my heart after everything went down. Kinda like Zoë did when Justin tried to rape her. I am very glad of the way she handled that situation. How she told him off and then all the virgins stand together at the end of the book. That was a nice way of ending it. I'm not going to make this review long. I'm getting a lot of uncomfortable thoughts.

Eclipse

Title: Eclipse

Author(s): Stephenie Meyer

Summary:
In the dead silence
all the details suddenly fell into place for me
with a burst of intuition.
Something Edward didn't want me to know.
Something that Jacob wouldn't have kept from me.
Something that the Cullens and the wolves both in the woods,
moving in hazardous proximity to each other. . . .

Something I'd been waiting for anyway.
Something I knew would happen again,
as much as I might wish it never would.

It was never going to end, was it?

My Review:
What can I say about this book. It was definitely more action-packed than any of the others so far. I loved the ending, but I hated all the games that Jacob and Edward were playing with Bella. I mean, yeah, in the end they did give up and leave the final decision up to her. Well in the end, it would have been her decision anyway. It's hard when you come to terms that you love two people, but you have to make the decision that will make you happy. In Bella's case it was going to be hard either way, but she finally made her choice and I love the choice she made. And now she's getting married! I couldn't help but laugh when she tried to go all the way with Edward. That was hilarious to me. But all in all this series is excellent and I can't wait to read the last book.

Deep Green: Color Me Jealous

Title: Deep Green: Color Me Jealous

Author(s): Melody Carlson

Summary: Jordan Ferguson and Shawna Frye became good friends a few months back—when Jordan made cheerleader and started hanging with a new group of friends. That's how the Timothy Lawrence incident happened.

A sick, twisted love triangle.
When Timothy suddenly dumps Shawna—to start seeing Jordan—rumors start flying. Shawna gets her revenge by smearing her former friend's reputation. Then she steals back Timothy by tempting him with an offer he can't refuse. Jordan feels absolutely green with envy-so much so that she considers doing everything in her power to get him back. Everything. Luckily, her old friend Kara Hendricks has been down that road too and knows Someone who just might be able to help Jordan as well.

My Review:
Well, this was really familiar to me. It never happened to me, but it has happened to a few people I know. Well, almost everything. They played the evil games to try to get what they wanted, just like Shawna and Jordan, but they never went as far as to have sex as a way of revenge. I do like the fact that Jordan finally turns her life over to God. It's amazing how you can go to church and no matter what, God is going to make sure the minister/pastor/reverend talks about something that you may be going through. It's God's way of capturing your attention and making sure you hear Him, so next time you get stuck in this kind of situation, make sure you pay attention to God and not follow your intuition. You could make a mess of things.

Dark Blue: Color Me Lonely

Title: Dark Blue: Color Me Lonely

Author(s): Melody Carlson

Summary:
Kara Hendricks and Jordan Ferguson have been best friends since kindergarten. By now—sophomore year—they're more like sisters, really. Jordan has always been the leader in the friendship, but still she's the perfect friend. That is, until she starts to hang with a new, "cool" crowd and decides that Kara is a popularity liability.

Best Friends forever? Yeah, right.
Devastated, Kara feels betrayed and abandoned by everyone—even God. How could Jordan do this? Why did God let this happen? Yet for all the hurt and insecurity, these dark days contain a life-changing secret. Now that Jordan is gone, Kara has the chance to discover something about herself that she never knew before. But first she must learn to trust again. It won't be easy.

My Review:
Well, to tell the truth the first half of the book was not that captivating. It didn't really get into any detail. I mean yeah, Carlson does cover the finer points of being lonely...like wanting to stay in your room and not be around anyone. And the fact that you always want to cry.
I really liked the fact that Kara finally invited Jesus into her heart. I really is an amazing feeling when you invite Jesus into your heart. You feel all warm on the inside as if nothing could touch you. It's an awesome feeling.

Crank

Title: Crank

Author(s): Ellen Hopkins

Summary:
Life was good
before I met

the monster.

After,
life

was great,

At
least
for a little while.

Kristina Georgia Snow is the perfect daughter: gifted high school junior, quiet, never any trouble. And what begins as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul—her life.

My Review:
Okay first off, this book is difficult to read at first because it is written in the form of a giant poem. Every page is a different style that you have to figure out how to read. But once you get the hang of how to read it, it's a very fast pace book. It took me a matter of a few hours to read the whole book. Anyway, it's a great book to read up on information about drugs. Or at least this specific one. It tells her life before she got hooked on it and then after when she was already hooked by it's addiction. She definitely did her homework before she wrote this book. And I know that sounds like I do drugs, but I don't. I just knew someone who did.

New Moon

Title: New Moon

Author(s): Stephenie Meyer

Summary:
I knew we were both in mortal danger. Still in that instant, I felt well. Whole. I could feel my heart racing in my chest, the blood pulsing hot and fast through my veins again. My lungs filled deep with the sweet scent that came off hes skin. It was like there had never been any hole in my chest. I was perfect--not healed, but as if there had never been a wound in the first place.

My Review:
I love this series so much. I didn't like it when Edward left Bella on her own. But I did like the fact that he would be willing to die for her if anything happened to her. It's what every girl wishes for. Someone willing to do anything for her. Yeah, we may say that we don't; but in all reality we do want that and it was awesome that Edward is like that for Bella. I wish it Edward would have been in the book more, but it turned out to be a great book. They may not have been together physically through out the book, but they were still together spiritually and mentally like it should always be. The one you love should always be with you even if you are not physically together.

Betrayed

Title: Betrayed

Author(s): P.C. Best of all she actually has a boyfriend . . . or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jepardize the very fabric of her world. Betrayed, the second book in the House of Night series, is dark and sexy, and as thrilling as it is utterly shocking.

My Review:
I won't give away anything to those whom haven't read it; however, I will say that Neferet is getting on my nerves. She definitely pushed her limit in this book and I don't blame Zoey for the decisions she makes. If I were in her shoes I probably would have made the same ones. I thought it was cool how Zoey gets a grip on her powers and then her friends are gifted an affinity of the elements as well. At least, Zoey is not on her own now. And I like the fact that Aphrodite, acts all snooty (or whatever you would like to call it), but still warns Zoey about things to come.

Marked

Title: Marked

Author(s): P.C. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change—and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: when she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny—with a little help from her vampyre friends.

My Review:
I loved the book. To me this book was just a way for me to escape from reality and go back a few years. I like how it portrays everything about being a teenager and the fact that even though Zoey did transfer schools, she still goes through the same obstacles. Girls who always think they're better than you in everything and guys who think that they can have whatever they want. Yes, it is true that life is not like that and most eventually realize that after a while, but there are still those few who think that way and I think that P.C. & Kristin Cast did an awesome job in portraying these views.

Twilight

Title: Twilight

Author(s): Stephenie Meyer

Summary:
When seventeen year-old Bella Swan leaves sunny Arizona to live with her father in the small and gloomy Pacific North-West town of Forks she doesn’t expect to like it. After all she has made excuses not to go there enough times over the past few years. If living in Forks, with its constant mist and rain, wasn’t bad enough she will have to make a whole new set of friends and settle into a new school.
Bella soon makes some new friends at school but when she sees a boy called Edward Cullen sitting with his brothers and sisters in the cafeteria she is instantly intrigued. Edward is stunningly attractive, almost inhumanly beautiful, and yet he is an outsider too. Although Edward and his family have lived in Forks for two years they have never really been accepted by the townsfolk.

At first Edward is aloof, sometimes it almost seems like he can’t stand to be in the same room as her, but eventually they strike up an unlikely friendship. Even as Bella falls hopelessly and irrevocably in love with Edward, she still can’t work out exactly what makes him so different to everyone else.

On a trip to the beach, Bella is told of the local legend about the “cold ones”, a group of blood drinkers who have sworn off hunting humans but are still not welcome on Indian land because vampires are not to be trusted. Realising Edward is vampire changes nothing for Bella, she knows that she still loves him even if he’s not human.

Edward and his whole family are vampires. Edward himself was made a vampire when he was seventeen years-old, although that was at the end of World War I. For Edward his love for Bella is both a delight and a torment. A delight because she is the first person he has loved since he was made a vampire. A torment because although he has sworn off human blood and only hunts animals the craving for human blood never truly leaves him and the very scent of her also stirs his hunger for blood….

My Review:

This book was really captivating with the romance of Edward and Bella forming. It started out having me being very skeptical about if they were even going to be friends and then as it got further into the book I knew they would be much more than friends. I love the fact that he's basically placed himself as her "guardian angel" or whatever you want to call it. Always there when she needs him. Or the fact that no matter where she is, he always turns up if she's in trouble.I didn't like the fact that Rosalie was always so mean and always turning a cold shoulder to Bella and I hope that changes as I read the rest of the series. But it was great the way his family took her in with no trouble what-so-ever. Never asked questions, just opened their arms freely. Don't you wish everyone was like that??? It would make things so much easier.

Nightmare Academy

Title: Nightmare Academy

Author(s): Frank Peretti

Summary:

Enter a place where gravity is turned upside down, time runs backwards, and nightmares are real.

He was once a normal fifteen-year-old-boy.
